ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Medical Director performs ultrasound procedures in accordance with department protocols.
Perform all ultrasonographic procedures, including minor surgical procedures such as cyst aspirations, biopsies, thoracentesis, and amniocentesis according to department protocol.
Performs Vascular Ultrasound procedure including both venous and arterial studies.
Assist radiologist during procedures.
Retrieve patient information from the computer systems.
Send to and retrieve exams to PACs.
Ability to send exams to laser printer.
Identify and report maintenance mechanical, electrical, and safety problems to immediate supervisor.
Troubleshoot equipment problems and assist with their resolution.
Use proper telephone etiquette.
QualificationsExperience and Education:
At least two years in Allied Health educational program and one (1) year on-the-job training in Ultrasonography;
Completion of an approved ultrasonography program.
Approved Ultrasonography program
Licensure:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate within one year.
Must demonstrate ability to perform diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures which meet the department's standard of quality recognize and respond to life-threatening patient conditions arising while the patient is in the department treat patients visitors and staff with courtesy and tact maintain confidentiality of patient records and information work effectively under stress and adjust priorities as circumstances require organize work assignments maintain accurate and complete records maintain a high degree of accuracy in procedural detail record keeping work independently on-call completing all required clerical and technical functions coordinate patient and procedure schedules review staff work and assist the supervisor with annual evaluation.
Must have knowledge of ultrasound physics and instrumentation anatomy and physiology for medical imaging including cross-sectional relationships medical terminology relating to medical imaging currently accepted diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures principles of the operation of ultrasound equipment film processing systems mechanical and electrical safety practices and requirements in the patient examination environment.
Pay Range$70.49 - $81.72 /hour
