Gillian’s paper art career was encouraged early enough in life by her cherished kindergarten teacher, the wonderful Miss Hall. But then for 3 decades she was sidetracked by social service jobs, a stint working for the government and even a brief sojourn in a convent. Gillian finally found her way back to the love of her life in paper greeting cards and paper collage. After 20 years of poking about professionally with paper and glue, she recently introduced a new line of printed greetings, ‘ “He Said, She Said” - What men and women have been telling us over the years.’ This popular line of cards features famous and not-so-famous quotes offering humour, encouragement, and inspiration. In her quiet moments, Gillian turns to paper sculpture and collage. She will be exhibiting her larger pieces of work at a 2009 show in Muskoka. After 10 years of operating a stationery shop in Toronto, Gillian moved north where she now lives amidst the tall pines, rushing rivers and busy beavers of Cottage Country Canada.
